The tournament organizer of Rugby New Zealand 2011 made announcement regarding the achievement of revenue target. Two matches of seventh Rugby World Cup are left and revenue target is already attained.

The RNZ 2011 has set the target of revenue ticket sales of NZ $268.5 million, which has already been achieved. Brian Roche, the RNZ 2011 Chairman stated that sales has successfully pushed the revenue to NZ$268.7 million. Approximately 87% of 2011 Rugby World Cup Tickets have been already sold.

Hon Murray McCully, Rugby World Cup Minister stated that tournament is currently at its best position.

McCully said, “Today’s result is a tribute to the hard work of the staff at RNZ 2011 and also a tribute to the way New Zealanders have seen the Rugby World Cup as so much more than just a Rugby Tournament. It has been a wonderful celebration of New Zealand and proof that this small country can successfully hold a large and complex event like a Rugby World Cup. Mike Eagle, the New Zealand Rugby Union Chairman stated that attaining target means that all the assurances made have been fulfilled.
